We’ve put together some commonly asked questions to give you more information about Euro Plus and the cover we offer. If you have a question that is not answered below please use the contact us page.

General

Who is eligible for Euro Plus?
Euro Plus is available to people who are resident in the UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands and who have not spent more than six months abroad during the year before the policy is issued.

The policy covers each driver and all passengers in the insured vehicle. The insured vehicle must not be carrying more than the recommended number of passengers (maximum being 8 including the driver).

Your trip must start in the UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands and must be purchased before travel.

What vehicles will you cover?
The insured vehicle must be:

A car, motorcycle over 150cc, motorised caravan, minibus, light van, estate car or 4×4 sport utility vehicle registered in the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands. Towed caravans or trailers are not covered unless the additional premium is paid.

No more than 15 years old at the date you buy the policy.

Not more than 3,500kg in weight (including any load), 7 metres long, 3 metres high and 2.3 metres wide.

Not carrying more than the recommended number of passengers (maximum being 8 including the driver).

Kept in a safe and roadworthy condition and serviced in accordance with the manufacturers specifications.

Is there a maximum vehicle age limit?
The maximum age limit for cover is 15 years old at the date you buy the policy.
Are towed caravans and trailers covered?
Yes provided they are no more than 15 years old at the date you buy the policy and the additional premium has been paid.
Which countries are covered?
Euro Plus covers you within the following Continental countries:

Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canaries, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City.

NOTE: The policy does not cover trips within the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, other than during the direct journeys between your home and your international departure point.

Single Trip

What is the maximum duration for a Single Trip policy?
The maximum duration of any single trip is 90 days.
Do you cover one-way trips?
Cover for one-way trips is available on payment of an additional premium. The maximum duration for such journeys is 31 days, although cover will cease 48 hours after your arrival at your destination.
Please note, this option is not available online. Please call us on 02392 419 070 (Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm, closed Bank Holidays).
Can I extend my Single Trip policy if I decide to stay longer?
Subject to The Insurers agreement, we may be able to extend an individual trip policy providing you let us know before your policy expires. At the time of requesting the extension you will need to confirm you have not required assistance or claimed and are not intending to require assistance or make a claim. Please note, this is subject to your existing trip duration including the extended period not exceeding 90 days which is the maximum trip durations of the Single Trip policy. You will be advised of the additional premium at the time of the request.
Can I be covered for trips in my home country (UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands)?
This policy does not cover trips within the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, other than during the direct journeys between your home and your international departure point.

Annual Multi-Trip

What is the individual maximum trip limit under an Annual Multi-trip policy?
You are covered for any number of individual trips up a maximum of 31 days for each trip.
If I am abroad can I extend the 'maximum duration any one trip' limit provided by my Annual Multi-trip policy if I decide to stay longer?
No, we are unable to extend cover beyond the maximum duration limit.
Can I be covered for trips in my home country (UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands)?
This policy does not cover trips within the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, other than during the direct journeys between your home and your international departure point.

Motor Breakdown Service

Do you have a 24 hour Motor Breakdown Service?
The Euro Plus policy has a 24 hour motor breakdown service provided by Allianz Global Assistance. In the event of a motor breakdown, accident or theft during your journey (or within 7 days before you leave) you must contact the motor breakdown service:

In the event of a breakdown whilst abroad, do I have to pay my bills myself?
On most occasions, we will be able to guarantee costs directly with the repairer or garage. However, where we are unable to do, you may be asked to pay directly. Please ensure that you obtain a detailed invoice of all work carried out to support your claim. In the event of a motor breakdown, accident or theft, you must always contact the 24 hour motoring breakdown service. Your claim may not be paid if you fail to do so.

Buying Online

Is your website secure?
Yes. We use 128-bit encrypted SSL to help keep all of your data safe.
How can I pay for my policy?
You can pay by debit or credit card. We accept Mastercard and Visa.
How will I receive my policy documents?
Your Schedule of Insurance and policy documents are delivered to the email address you provide.
Do I need to take my policy documents with me?
You should print a copy of your Schedule of Insurance and policy documents and carry them with you.

The Insurance Policy includes important telephone numbers including the Motor Breakdown Service that is available to you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Can I get my money back if I want to cancel?
If you are not completely satisfied with the cover provided you may return your policy to us within 14 days on receipt of your policy documents. Provided you have not travelled or made or intend to make a claim, your premium will be refunded in full.

Who are the Insurers?
Euro Plus is underwritten by AWP P&C SA and administered in the UK by Allianz Global Assistance.

How do I know what I'm covered for?

Can you resend my policy to me?
Yes. Please email us at contact@europlusinsurance.co.uk with your policy number (if known), your name and the address (for verification) and we will then resend the policy.
